Rotary’s variety show

A host of performers from the district took to the stage last week for The Rotary Club of Spalding and Welland’s annual Age Concern Concert.

The event on Tuesday, March 6, was specially put on by the Rotary members as a night out for the community’s elderly population at the South Holland Centre.

Compère Richard James oversaw the entertainment which included a terrific foot-tapping performance of traditional music hall entertainment by St Nicolas Players, who will be holding their own show March 21 to 24.

Professional dancer Joanne Sutton performed with the Frampton Tappers and adult tap dance group the Pinchbeck Tappers.

Spalding Amateur Dramatic Operatic Society (SADOS) performed a few tunes from their upcoming show Priscilla,

Queen of the Desert, which was a great teaser for the actual show which runs between May 15 and 19.

St Nicolas Players perform traditional music hall numbers.

Traditional folk music was performed by members of the Spalding Folk Club members including Kim and Phil Biggs.

The evening ended as the audience were wowed by music and magic act Spellbound.

A spokesman for the Rotary, said: “A great night was had by all who attended.”
