Rotary’s concert for community

A yearly free concert for South Holland senior citizens and groups was a huge hit once again.

The Spalding Rotary Club holds the event every year at the South Holland Centre, with this year’s on Tuesday, March 3.

Entertainment included songs from the SpongeBob SquarePants musical by the cast of Act II, performances from local singer Jane Howell and Ukrainian vocalist Oksana Ponaida, musical favourites from Velvet Duo, soft jazz from saxophonist Ardern Little and pianist David Schofield, and moving vocals from the South Holland Singers.

The evening finished on a high with crooner Alan Jackson, ending with everyone singing along to Sweet Caroline.

Compèreing the evening was club president, Graham Dawson, who said: “We love hosting this event as a thank you to the older members of our community.

“It was a wonderful showcase of local talent and community spirit.”
