Rotary buys school a life-saver

Representatives from The Rotary Club of South Holland visited The Priory School in Spalding to hand over a brand new defibrillator.

The Priory School supports pupils aged 11 to 16, who have a range of needs including moderate learning difficulties, autism, SEMH and communication issues.

The school has always had use of a defibrillator stationed next door to them at Spalding Academy but emergency services suggested it have a defibrillator on site.

The Priory School needed to raise £850 to purchase its own defibrillator and The Rotary Club of South Holland stepped in to help. They decided to provide all the money so that the new machine could be put into place as soon as possible.

Jon Martin, President, and David Spenceley, former president of The Rotary Club of South Holland attended the handover.

Daran Bland, Executive Head of The Priory School said: “We are incredibly thankful to The Rotary Club of South Holland, having a defibrillator on site could literally be a lifesaver.”
