Roads in Holbeach St Marks to be resurfaced

Three pot-holed roads in Holbeach St Marks are set to be resurfaced next month.

Lincolnshire County Council says it will begin a scheduled four weeks of works on Red Cow Drove/Leadenhall Road and St Marks Road starting April 19.

A division will be in place on weekdays from 7.30am to 5pm. It will be via Lincoln Lane, Middle Marsh Road, Roman Bank, A17 and vice versa.

Coun Richard Davies, executive member for highways, said: “This is good news that our extensive patching works for Red Cow/Leadenhall Road and St Marks Road are going ahead. By this happening we are getting on with a primary step in major improvements for the area.

“Patching the road is an essential part of the preparations needed ahead of a new surface being laid on the road next year. It is vital that we get these works done to improve the road now and increase its quality overall.

“There will be some disruption to traffic whilst the works are underway. We will try to minimise this wherever possible, but whilst our crew is carrying out the work there will – sometimes – be cases where it can’t be helped. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone affected for their patience in this matter.”
