Rivals Pinchbeck and Moulton set for county clash

Perennial rivals Moulton Harrox and Pinchbeck United clash in the Lincs FA Junior Cup third round at Broad Lane on Saturday (1.30pm).

The bar will be open from 12.30pm at Moulton, with fans of both sides encouraged to turn out in force.

Pinchbeck warmed up for the clash with a 4-1 win over Langtoft in the Peterborough Premier Division on Saturday. Tom Gosling, Ollie Maltby, Ash Murrell and player/boss Ian Dunn got the goals.

Moulton lost 2-1 at home to Netherton in the President Premier Shield despite Danny Cairns’ goal.

  • Jake Farrell tore the hosts apart in a blistering first half display in what was supposed to be a tight, top four encounter as Spalding United Reserves crushed hosts Netherton A 7-2 on Saturday.

Runaway ChromaSport Peterborough League Division Two leaders Spalding embraced the 3G surface from the off and thumped five past Netherton in what was their best 45 minutes of the season.

Jack Wycherley and Dave Endersbee commanded the midfield in the early exchanges, before unleashing a rapid Farrell down the right hand side. Gliding past a couple of defenders as if they weren’t there, Farrell finished with a beautiful, cross goal strike.

Before the home side knew what had hit them, it was two. A 20-pass move was finished in style when Ash West’s cross was converted by a diving header from Jason Haytree. Wycherley bagged the third only minutes later with a well placed effort from the edge of the box.

The unplayable Farrell then raced through again, this time unleashing a glorious effort from an acute angle across the goal. It wouldn’t have been the complete first half display without top scorer Edgaras Buzas then getting in on the act.

Spalding struggled to repeat the form of the first half and the hosts showed a great attitude as they fought out a 2-2 draw in the second. Buzas then got his second and a rare strike from substitute Jordan Haw completed the scoring.
