Rider seriously hurt in Crowland mini moto crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious accident in Crowland involving a van and a mini moto.

Emergency services were called to James Street, between the roundabout and the caravan park, in Crowland, at 2.20am this morning (Thursday) following the collision between the mini moto and a white Ford Transit.

The rider of the mini moto, a man in his 30s (age not yet confirmed), from Lancashire, suffered serious injuries to his legs and was taken to hospital in Peterborough before being transferred to the major trauma unit at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

A 39-year-old man from Lancashire and a 20-year-old woman from Crowland were arrested in connection with the incident and are currently helping police with enquiries.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw the Transit or the mini moto prior to the collision. Anyone with information should contact the collision witness hotline on 01522 558855.
