Recognition for pride of Lions

Spalding Lions have marked the end of term with a host of socially distanced presentations.

President Stuart East’s last act before his term of office ended was to present vice president Lion Elaine Mothers, second vice president Lion Eileen Robson and Lion John Steel with a Melvin Jones Fellowship Award for all their hard work and commitment to service within the Lions organisation.

It was then time for the chain of office to be handed over to Elaine who now becomes the new president in Spalding Lions’ 50th year. Eileen becomes vice president with Lion Michele Elvin now second vice president.

Elaine said: “Normally for our changeover we like to have a social event with all the Spalding Lions members and partners, but unfortunately due to the current pandemic it had to be a low key affair.”
