Children from Spalding Parish Day School took part in the Summer Reading Challenge organised by The Reading Agency and run through libraries across the county.
Spalding Library promoted the challenge during visits to the library and through leaflets in schools.
All children from the age of four were set the challenge to read six library books and visit the library over the summer, collecting special stickers and incentives along the way.
The library hosted a range of activities, including competitions, for the children. They made a character which they moved each visit to indicate how many books they had read. Some children designed their own t-shirts or left their teddy bears for a sleepover in the library.
During the first week of September, the children were invited to the library to receive their certificates.
Pupils who took part in the challenge were entered into a prize draw at school to win a book linked to the recommended reading lists, which will be presented this week.
