Rare loss for Holbeach United as Poachers win Carter’s Park derby

Holbeach United suffered their first UCL Premier Division defeat since the opening day of the season as Boston Town beat them 2-1 at Carter’s Park on Wednesday night.

A Jack Wightwick stunner on 20 minutes gave Boston a surprise 1-0 lead at half time, before defender Simon Ashton notched a second on the hour.

The returning Gary King pulled one back for the Tigers, but they were unable to grab a late leveller.

Holbeach boss Darren Jarvis was handed the UCL manager of the month prize before kick off, but it brought no luck for his second-placed side as they lost ground on leaders Leicester Nirvana.
