Quintet’s 1,000-mile fundraising ride in rain and (hot) shine

Spare a thought for a group of fundraising cyclists riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats this week.(Sep 14)

The friends have so far endured extremes of weather on the 1,000-mile route – with rain on day two last Saturday and hot sunshine more recently.
Kev Gray, Jason Booth and Mark Orton – all members of Spalding Spinners cycling group – are doing the ride with friends Mark Tierney and Adrian Pharaoh, from Surrey.

The five have been documenting the ups and downs of the epic ride online at www.lejogblog2016.blogspot.co.uk. They are clocking up about 110 miles per day and expect to arrive at the finish point in Scotland on Saturday.

Charities benefiting from the support include Mind, Breast Cancer Research, and Alzheimer’s Society.
