Pyramid C extended their lead at the top of Division One of the Spalding & District League with a clean sweep against Services D.
George Neary-Phillips (o21), Spencer Dawkins (o56) and Richard Skellett (o21) opened a 3-0 lead before Jason Green (o56) struck a 22 break on his way to a black-ball win. The whitewash was completed by Dave Pearson (o14) with breaks of 22 and 21.
Pyramid F kept up the pressure with a 5-1 win at Holbeach C. Mark Gray (098) was on form with breaks of 77 and 40 and a 71 clearance in his two wins. Carl Gibson (o21) had a 25 break and Pete Hodgson-Kerry a 40 to make it 4-0 before Mark Gregory (o28) restored some home pride with a 24 break in his win.
Andy Spearman (scr), Paul Daw (o28) and Denis Hix (r7) won to secure victory for third-placed Holbeach D but they had to work hard against Services A, who enjoyed wins from Chris Dunmore (o42) and Vince Fitter (o42), who had a 29 break.
Pyramid D shot up the standings with a 6-0 whitewash of hosts Services C, while Consti E suffered a seventh straight defeat, going down 5-1 at Consti G. Nathan Wilson (o14), Ady Sibley (o35), Darren Woodberry (o42) and Martin Deacon (o14) made sure of victory, with Woodberry notching breaks of 25 and 20, before Sim Law (o7) won the last frame for the visitors.
Consti H’s Doug Garfoot (o28) hit a break of 26 in his opening defeat to Boundary A’s Elliot Cox (scr) who hit back with one of 21. Adam Mayman (o28) also scored well for the hosts but his 29 came in a defeat to Daniel Smith (o21). Andy Mowforth (o14) and Tim Burrows (scr) made it 4-0 to the visitors, before Seb Grimston (o28) stopped a whitewash.
Gosberton A hit back from 2-1 down to win 4-2 at Donington C. Carl Waud (o7) won for the visitors before Shaun Pickering (r7) levelled. Neil Reynolds (o63) fired in breaks of 38 and 24, as well as a 25 clearance to put Donington ahead. Jamie Mumby (o28) held his nerve to win on a respotted black to make it 2-2 and Alan Jackson (scr) won the decider.
Division Two leaders Holbeach A suffered their first defeat, despite having led 2-0. They looked to be on their way to a seventh win when Sean Swinburn (o63) potted breaks of 29 and 27 to go with Stuart Atkin’s (o42) black-ball victory. However, despite Pete Ransom (o35) making a 21 break, he lost to Lynn Simmons (r21) and black-ball wins from Keith Lungley (o28) and Paolo Gensiorskys (scr) settled things for Gosberton.
Holbeach B took advantage of the leaders’ slip to narrow the gap to one point thanks to a 5-1 victory over Donington A. Garry Cooke (o14), Barry Haynes (o7) and Pete Mullane (o21) made the points safe before Glenn Ryan (o21) pulled one back. Adi Liquorish (r14) completed the home win.
Pyramid A also closed in on top spot with a 5-1 win, seeing off Whittlesey A, despite Jason Clarke (o14) making it 1-1 after Jim Benner (r14) won the opener. Norman Vaughan (o21), John Twell (cr) and Dean Cole (60) ensured there was no way back for the visitors.
Whittlesey C are still looking for their first win after losing 4-2 at home to Holbeach F. They had hopes of ending their losing streak when John Willis (r7) and Gary Thewliss (scr) put them 2-1 up after Dan Mayfield’s (o28) opening frame win for Holbeach, However, that was dashed as James Quinton (o14) and Alex Bourne (o21) turned things in the away team’s favour.
Pyramid B also hit back from 2-1 down to beat Consti F, thanks to wins from Phil Cooke (r7), Dennis Pearson (scr) and Richard Clark (o14) after Robert Adams (o7) and Brian Turnell (r14) had given Consti the advantage.
Richard Parkes (o7) was Holbeach E’s sole winner in a 5-1 defeat at Services B, with Jason Rose (o28), Jeff Collins (scr), Andy Neal (r7) and Alan Hansard (scr) prevailing.
John Rike (r14), Martin Fear (o7), John Christian (r7), Mick Johnson (o21) and John Keeton (o7) were winners as Consti B closed the gap at the top of Division Three with a 6-0 win at Donington D.
Leaders Consti D, however, made sure their lead was only reduced by a point after seeing off Holbeach G 5-1, thanks to wins from Ray Digby (r28), Joe Garland (o7), Steve Moore (r21) and Tom Digby (r14). Dave Willy (o21) was the sole away winner.
Consti C picked up their second win of the campaign but remain bottom of the table after a 4-2 win at Consti J.
Elsewhere, there were 4-2 wins for Gosberton C (at Boundary B), Consti I (at Consti A) and Gosberton (against Donington B).
