A thriller at Holbeach A in Monday’s Spalding and District League fixtures saw visitors Donington pull off a 4-3 victory, despite trailling 580-577 on the aggregate points score.
Ben Wrigglesworth (R20) and Jim Thompson (R60) were the away winners, with Mick Cooper (O200) potting breaks of 22, 25, 45, 22, 27, 26 and 46 on his way to a win for the hosts.
Another close match went in favour of Pyramid B, who beat Consti A 4-3
(507-518) to leapfrog them at the top of the early-season table, with wins for Maurice Phillipson (R70) and Darrell Read (R40). Alan Hansard (R80) got the away success.
Consti B were 5-2
(568-531) victors against Holbeach B, courtesy of successful frames from Jason Rose (R10) and Mick Johnson (-150). Neil Harvey (R50) got the consolation. Johnson was on form with breaks of 35, 37, 24, 35 and 54.
