Pyramid A on track to do the double

Pyramid A are on track to do the double in the Spalding Billiards League as they hold on to top spot and have booked their place in the Billiards Shield final.

They whitewashed second-placed Holbeach B 7-0 on Monday night to open the gap at the top to 11 points.
Wins from John Clapton (r100), John Twell (r70) and Reegan Cooke-Holmes (r80) saw them to victory over Denis Hix (r60), Andy Spearman (r80) and Neil Harvey (r50).
Bourne SC are sitting in third, following a 5-2 win over local rivals Pyramid B.
Tony Curry (r60) went on first, beating Maurice Phillipson (r70) 200-164, followed by Elliot Gaunt (r30), who got the better of Phil Cooke (r100), 200-193.
The final frame saw Pyramid snatch some points back courtesy of Darrell Read (r20), who beat Lester Gaunt (o30) 200-170.
Gosberton beat bottom-of-the-league Consti A 5-2.
Marcus Pell (o40) beat Alan Hansard (r70) 200-144 in the first frame, before John Bellerby (r90) got a frame back for Consti, getting the better of Des Forbes (r50).
The last frame saw Consti’s Stewart Davies (r50) take on Shane White (o40), with White coming out on top 200-191.
Pell scored breaks of 45, 38, 26 and 24 in his win, while Davies got a 30 and White knocked in a 29 and a 24.
