Pupils recognised for Walking Tall

Youngsters from across South Holland have been recognised for achievement in the face of adversity, thanks to Spalding Lions.

During the last week of school term, members of Spalding Lions visited local primary schools to present certificates and gift vouchers.

In praise of young people, Walking Tall is an annual prize for a pupil in the last term of their final year at junior school.

Lion Julie Grant said: “The prize is awarded, as chosen by their teacher or head of school, to a pupil who has achieved success, perhaps in the face of adversity, through grit and determination.

“Certificates and £25 gift tokens were presented to the award recipients.

“Thank you to all the local schools who took part this year and for inviting us into your schools assemblies and end of year events.”
