Pupils in Whaplode achieve in the swimming pool too

All Year 6 pupils at Whaplode Primary School were awarded 25m swimming certificates on June 26.

The youngsters have completed most of their swimming in the school’s committee-sponsored pool.
The school’s business manager Mark Lunn congratulated the children, saying: “This 100 per cent pass rate has exceeded the school’s statistics and demonstrated its commitment to this valuable life skill.
“A special thank-you needs to go to all the volunteers and committee members of the swimming pool, who give up their own time and tirelessly maintain and improve the swimming pool each year.”
A survey by the Amateur Swimming Association suggests that 45 per cent of children leaving primary school are unable to swim 25 metres unaided – down six per cent on 2013.
