Pudding party was a treat

Saracen’s Head Village Hall had a sweet afternoon last weekend as they held a ‘Pudding Party’ for local residents.

Around 30 people took part in the event which amid many servings of tasty puddings brought in by attendees involved quizzes, competitions and singing.

The evening raised £165 and was co-hosted by Christine and Richard Austen along with Sue and Nick Brooks.

They invented the characters Betty, Madge, ‘Arry and Bert for a 1940s buffet for their radio club and it proved so successful they keep coming back.

All profits made on the day go towards the upkeep of the hall.

The committee behind it are also ready to welcome the public to an outdoors picnic to celebrate The Queen’s Jubilee this Sunday, June 5.

The celebrations around the hall will be on from 2pm to 5pm.
