Prolific Ford backed to drive Pinchbeck Sunday to trophies

Josh Ford is being backed to fire Pinchbeck United Sunday to glory this season after notching another hat-trick at the weekend.

The striker got three of the goals for Spalding and District Sunday League champions in a 7-1 Knight Street win over Swineshead Institute on Sunday, with Gary Piper (2), Andy Law and Dan Woods also bagging.

It’s now five wins out of five for Tom Roberts’ side – and the player/boss admits Ford is on fire at the moment.

He said: “Josh’s current form is outstanding and he could single-handedly get us a long way in the Lincs Sunday Cup if he continues his rich vein of goal scoring form.

“Everyone knows what he can produce on his day.”

Elsewhere in the league, Matt Eaton and Ben English both bagged braces as Sutton Bridge Sunday thrashed Spalding Seas End Wanderers 10-0.

Robert Hook, Jake Lilley, Ben Partridge, Kurt Scott, Joe Sutton and Jason Rauch also netted.

In the League Knockout Cup, Alex Garner and Ricky Stevens scored to earn Punchbowl Tigers at 2-0 triumph at Mulberry.

Brennans Sports also earned an impressive win in the KO Cup, as they saw off Murrow Bell at the Castle.

Daniel Bergin, Dave Endersbee and James Kingston got their goals.

Sunday’s fixtures (10.30am)

Division One: Spalding Sea End Wanderers v Pinchbeck Utd Sunday; Swineshead Institute Sunday v Punchbowl Panthers.
