South Lincs Competitive Swimming Club took a strong squad to the Level Two Open Meet at Biggleswade over the weekend.
Many of the swimmers from the Spalding-based club were on the hunt for times that met the East Midland Qualifying standards (MQT).
Across the weekend, swimmers recorded personal best (PB) times – some of which had only recently been achieved.
The swimmers continued to show their developing skills around the starts and turns – areas that head coach Callum Lawson has been unrelenting on since the start of the season.
Many of the older swimmers competing clocked times close to their best, a feat that is particularly impressive considering the block of hard work they are putting in currently.
Mollie Briggs (aged 11) secured her first MQT in the 200m butterfly and Ellisha Cookson (11) secured four more MQTs in the 400m IM, 200m, 100m and 50m butterfly events.
Lawson said: “All in all it was an extremely productive weekend, with encouraging signs from all who took part as we now enter our preparation for midland and national championships.”
