On Saturday, 140 Spalding Golf Club members participated in the Lister BMW April Medal, which was highly competitive.
Wayne Proctor (7) took first place with a score of 69, followed by Paul Lawrence (13) also with 69, and Samuel Dicker (10) in third with 70 – a remarkable outcome considering the windy conditions.
In the Senior Stableford played on April 1 Philip Parker claimed first with 40 points, Eamon Asplin came second with 38 points, and Keith Tompkins finished third with 37 points. The event was well attended.
In the Ladies’ April Medal, 37 competitors fought hard for the title. Ann Gedney secured first place with 75, Ronnie Thorogood came second with 75, and Nicola Weller placed third with 76.
April features a full schedule of fixtures and inter-club matches. Both Tasker teams have advanced to the next round in a national competition.
Upcoming Spalding Opens are scheduled for May 29 and July 10. The Mixed Open on August 28 is filling up quickly.

qOn April 1, Sutton Bridge Golf Club Seniors’ hosted Gedney Hill Golf Club Seniors.
Gedney Hill were the winners five games to one with only Andy Hyde and Andy Parks winning their game for Sutton Bridge.
