Postman’s push for charity

A Spalding postman is hoping to deliver for a charity.

Ade Mills is joining girlfriend Rachael Nichols to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday (August 1) to raise money for the charity Tommy’s which funds research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth.

Ade, who lives in Spalding, said: “I was initially going down to support Rachael on the day but amazingly she surprised me with a gift of a race place for myself.

“We are both members of the Fenland Running Club in Wisbech.

“After a year of running virtual events we have got back to racing competitively again this year.

“We both ran the Blickling Half Marathon in May, Sublime 10K in Ferry Meadows in Peterborough in June and we also represented our club for the Green Wheel Relay also in June. I will be using this race in London as part of my training for the Manchester Marathon in October.

“We both feel it is important to support charities especially after the last 18 months where most have struggled to get funds with most of their fundraising plans cancelled.”
