In this category we will be looking for nominations for people who go out of their way to help others in their community in any number of ways, such as with chores, shopping or getting out and about, or simply just being there for a friendly chat or cup of tea.

We are asking In Bloom committees in South Holland’s town and villages to nominate the “star” of their efforts to make where they live blooming lovely.
The Bloomer of the Year Award will go to someone who goes the extra mile to bring a riot of colour to the verges and planters ahead of the In Bloom judges’ visit for the benefit of everyone who lives and works there.

EMGYoung Achiever – sponsored by EMG
The Young Achiever Award recognises young people who have excelled in education, business, sport or other fields.
Judges will be looking for those young people who are role models to their peers, either through what they have achieved in school, on the sports field or in other areas of their lives such as Guiding, Duke of Edinburgh or fundraising – to name just a few.
Nominees for this category must be aged 18 or under.

We are looking for a very special person to take home the 2015 Pride of South Holland Lifetime Achievement Award.
The judges will be loking for a person or group which has achieved outstanding things over several years.
This could include continued fundraising for a good cause, commitment to a cause or someone who has made South Holland a better place to live, work or relax through their continuing efforts..

The Person of Courage Award will recognise those who have
triumphed through testing or terrifying circumstances.
It will be presented to someone who has shown outstanding bravery, either in an emergency situation, such as a fire or accident, or through circumstances in their own life, such as illness or adversity.
We want to hear from you if you know a remarkable indidvidual who has shown enormous bravery.

Do you know of a project which has a real impact on the community?
This award will recognise the efforts made by people who are the driving forces behind projects that have benefitted the community.
It might be a communcity centre, a newsletter, an organisation, drama or sports project or a scheme that makes our surroundings safer and cleaner.

Our Senior Citizen Award will go to someone who is still achieving in their late years.
This could be someone who continues to work hard for their community, or maybe an older person who is “young at heart” and always willing to give new things a try, like mastering new technology or a new sport or pastime.

In every community there are outstanding individuals who strive to help others and continuously act out of human kindness rather than person gain.
These volunteers give up their time and energy to help, whether fundraising to keep amenities open, starting a new group to help keep youths on the straight and narrow or taking time out to look after the disadvantaged.
They may volunteer formally through a local group or simply be someone who makes a difference by helping others.
