Poppy Factory visit for pupils

Pupils from three local schools visited the factory that makes poppies recently.

Holbeach Primary Academy, Holbeach Bank Academy and William Stukeley Primary School travelled to The Poppy Factory in Surrey following the invitation from Alan Sheppard, the chairman of the Holbeach Branch of the Royal British Legion.
The children made poppies, learned the history behind the symbol and visited the factory which provides work for veterans.
The whole trip was funded by Chosen Holbeach, JT Ward Joiner and JT Ward Kitchen and Bathrooms.
A spokesman for the schools said: “This was a truly enjoyable experience, with children across all three schools learning about our past while seeing so clearly how this important British tradition is preparing for the future.
“Holbeach Primary and Holbeach Bank Academies have also received their Agreements of Affiliation with the Royal British Legion, the Youth Organisation, and look forward to further projects with the Royal British Legion.”
