Police warning after man enters house in Holbeach and garden gear stolen

Lincolnshire Police have issued a warning after a man entered the back door of a home in Holbeach.

PCSO Jane Gardner from Holbeach Neighbourhood Policing Team this morning issued an alert after police received a report of “an unknown male” entering the rear of a property via an insecure door in King George V Avenue.

The occupants were home at the time. The male is described as approximately 6ft tall wearing dark grey jogging trousers, dark grey hoodie and dark woolly hat. He made his escape over the garden fence.

PCSO Gardner added: “Another nearby resident found his garden shed had been entered by an insecure door and DJ equipment and bottles of spirits have been taken.”

“Please ensure you keep your doors and outbuildings locked and as secure as possible.

“Lots of us store Christmas gifts and alcohol in outbuildings in readiness for the festive season.

“There will always be the opportunist thieves out there who will just open doors and take your belongings but wouldn’t risk disturbing residents by breaking in.

“So don’t make it easy for them.”

Anyone with information which may assist police with their enquiries is asked to call 101 and quote incident number 385 03/12/19.
