Police in Spalding continue to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour in Spalding town centre in the run-up to Christmas.
Operation Washer was launched on December 1 and, between then and December 11, a number of offences have been dealt with:
- 10 street drinkers dealt with.
- 5 shoplifters arrested.
- 1 person arrested for breaching dispersal notice.
- 2 dispersal notices issued.
- 4 stop/searches.
- 3 motorists warned for breaching pedestrianised area of Market place.
- 10 cyclists warned for cycling without lights or breaching pedestrianised area of Market place.
Community Inspector Jim Tyner said: “During this period, my officers have conducted 129 1/2 hours of foot patrol and 16 1/2 hours of cycle patrol in the town centre.
“Op Washer will continue until December 24 and I am encouraging people to call 101 to report concerns so we can deal with them speedily.
“I am determined that Spalding town centre should be a safe place to live, work, shop and socialise, both during the day and at night”.
