Police: Seven sex offenders ‘missing’ in Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire Police have admitted that seven registered sex offenders have dropped off the radar in the county.

The figure was revealed after a Freedom of Information request to police forces across the country – revealing nationally the whereabouts of 396 sex offenders is unknown.
Some have been missing for up to a decade.

The Lincolnshire figures show that two registered sex offenders have been “missing” since 2006, two since 2009 and three since last year.
The response to the FOI request clarified that the figures were only valid for a specific date and subject to change due to the possibility of arrests being made or new cases coming to light.

In line with other forces across the country, Lincolnshire Police refused to identify the missing sex offenders as it is felt it would breach their right to privacy.
