Police say body found in church graveyard was that of woman (26)

Police have said that the body found in a tent in a Spalding graveyard was that of a 26-year-old women.

They were called to St Mary’s and St Nicolas at 9pm on Monday night.

Today a spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said: “We are continuing to appeal for information that will help with our investigation into the death of a 26-year-old woman who was found in a tent on Monday 17 July, in the grounds of St Mary and St Nicholas Church, Spalding. 

“The women’s family are aware.  We’re not able to share the name of the woman today but we will as soon as we’re able as we appreciate this may help with our appeal.

“We were first called to the area around 9 pm on Monday 17 July, as a result of our inquires we are currently treating the death as unexplained, and are appealing for the public’s help.

“We are working hard to understand what has happened and the circumstances around this tragic death.  No arrests have been made.
