Police plea to stop distributing video of incident that led to man’s death in Spalding

Lincolnshire Police have called on people to stop circulating a video of an incident leading to the death of a man in Spalding.

The incident happened around 2.30pm yesterday on Green Lane and has led to a murder investigation being launched.

Police have said a 45-year-old man died in the incident, but haven’t released any details of who he was or how he died.

Two men have been arrested in connection, one aged 33 on suspicion of murder and one, 47, on suspicion of affray.

Today (Tuesday) Lincolnshire Police released a statement on a video of the incident on social media sites.

“We have been made aware of footage capturing this incident that is circulating on social media which could cause immense distress to the victim’s family and friends,” a spokesman said. “We ask that out of respect for the victim and his family, and indeed the integrity of the investigation, you do not circulate this footage.”
