Police appeal over reports of children climbing Spalding town centre roofs

South Holland Police have warned people off climbing on buildings in the centre of Spalding.

Officers say they’ve had reports of children clambering on roofs which has also led to the buildings being damaged.

“We want to remind people the risks of trespassing on these high buildings,” a spokesman said. “This will often result in several emergency services being sent to a location, when they could be dealing with other matters.

“There is a significant risk of falling, and the roof may not be suitable to sustain persons walking or jumping on them.

“We will be working with local businesses to ensure regular reporting of these issues, identifying any person involved and they will have antisocial behaviour action taken against them.

“Please speak to your children and make them aware of the risks before anyone is injured.”
