Plenty to see at SH Centre

There’s a film for everyone at the South Holland Centre this week.

If you’re looking for a Norse action packed epic, The Northman (15) is showing tonight (Thursday) from 7.30pm.

The film with an all-star cast including Alexander Skarsgard, Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe follows a Viking prince’s quest to avenge his father’s murder.

Want something a bit more twisted?

Firestarter (15), an adaption of horror writing legend Stephen King’s novel, is being shown on Friday, June 24 from 7.30pm.

Zac Efron is among those trying to figure out Ryan Kiera Armstrong’s 11-year-old character Charlie’s issue with creating fire just by using her mind.

If you’re looking on the menu for something a bit more family orientated, then the centre is serving up Bob’s Burgers (PG) on Saturday at 2pm.

The hugely popular animated American hit about a family and their burger shop has made the jump to the big screen.

Bob, Linda and family are left to try and keep their business alive after a burst water main opens up a large sinkhole in front of their shop.

No, it’s not set in Holbeach’s Boston Road South.

On Saturday at 7.30pm and 2pm on Sunday, The Road Dance (15) offers a poignant portrait of life in a small Hebridean village during World War One.

A South Holland Centre spokesman said: “The film offers a believable window on the rhythms of island life at the turn of the 20th century that frames a genuinely compelling drama about love, loss, betrayal and hope.”

The First World War is also the backdrop for Wednesday, June 29’s offering Benediction (12A), a biopic of the war poet Siegfried Sassoon.

Both Jack Loden and Peter Capaldi play Sassoon who won a medal for gallantry but became a critic of war and whose works who are still treasured today.
