Plenty of Highs as A-Level results are revealed

Spalding High School students have amassed 270 qualifications in their A-Levels with 61 per cent at least A or B level.

They included 100 per cent of the top grades in art and design and two thirds in classical civilisation, chemistry, drama and theatre studies, English maths and further maths.

There was also 94 per cent with an A-B in the extended project qualification.

Spalding High School and Spalding Grammar School co-teach several A Level subjects, and they too were incredibly successful this year, with 100 per cent of students achieving A-C grades in French and music and 75 per cent of students achieving the same in English.

Some of those achieving the highest grades were:

  • Lily Roberts-Anchor 4 A levels at A and is planning to study Mathematics
  • Roisin Williams 4 A levels at A/A and is planning to study Engineering Rosalia Bunder 4 A Levels at A-C and is planning to study Fashion Photography
  • Libby Blackbourn 3 A levels at A* and is planning to study Illustration
  • Taelah Roberts 3 A Levels at A/A and is planning to study Law Isabelle Hicks 3 A Levels at A/A and is planning to study Law
  • Ellie Griffin 4 A Levels at A/B to study Biomedical Sciences
    Sophie Gleave 4 A Levels at A/B and planning to take a gap year
  • Izzy Wright 3 A Levels at A/A and is planning to take a gap year Naya Valambhia 3 A Levels at A/A and is planning to study Medicine
  • Caitlin Keyzers 3 A Levels at A/B and is planning to study Bio-medicine Eleanor Cranke 3 A Levels at A/A and is planning to study Natural Sciences
  • Jasmine Woodroffe 3 A Levels at A/B and is planning to study Biology Daisy Wilson 3 A Levels at A and is planning to study Law Evie Wilkinson 3 A Levels at A/B and is planning to study Biology
  • Alice Nicholson 3 A Levels at A/B and is planning to study Marketing Abbie Horspool 3 A Levels at A/B and is planning to study Business.

Headmistress Michele Anderson said: “Our students work incredibly hard and have yet again been rewarded with tremendously pleasing results at A Level this year.

“This is a testament to their commitment and hard work alongside the support of their parents and carers and the dedication of our experienced staff.

“The examination process is a challenging one and students have faced this with maturity and positivity and are to be commended for their resilience.

“Staff are also to be highly commended for ensuring that our students are both well taught and exam ready.

“Our students are progressing on to a number of new opportunities including work, degree apprenticeships, gap years and for the majority, university.
