Pleasure of painting on display

The University of the Third Age (U3A) Monday Art Group will this month hold its exhibition, called The Pleasure of Painting, at Asycoughfee Hall’s Geest Gallery.

The exhibition runs until Friday, August 31 and is open from 10.30am to 4pm, Wednesdays to Sundays (plus Bank Holiday Mondays). Admission is free.

A U3A spokesman said: “Almost all the group members studied art at school but didn’t discover this pleasure again until they gave up work, often more than 40 years later!

“By encouraging each other, the group are enthusiastically offering nearly 50 pictures, mostly for sale, each having their individual display area offering their own style of work, so there really is something for everybody.”

On Saturday, August 4, at 1.30pm the exhibition will be officially opened by Jeff Woods, aka Pavanotti.
Spalding and District U3A has more than 300 members and over 50 interest groups available to join.
