Plea to ‘Sing for the King’

A Spalding choir is urging the district to help it ‘Sing for the King’.

Spalding Community Choir have written a song of that title and they want everyone to get involved with singing it.
Musical director Zeph Churchill has written Sing for the King along with pianist Jack Wheatley to commemorate the coronation.
Members of the public of all ages are welcome to join the choir to record their efforts.
Local school children are already involved and also members of other local choirs are planning to join the rehearsals.
Zeph said: “There is no need to read music or have any previous experience, and no audition, just come and have fun and raise your voice with the people of Spalding to celebrate this monumental occasion.”
Rehearsals will take place at Broad Street Methodist Church PE11 1TB, 2pm to 4pm on Saturday April, 15 and 22.
The recording and performance will be on April 29 from 10am to 1pm. A copy of the recording will be sent to Buckingham Palace.
