A project to create a mass of canvases comprising individually knitted tulip heads has been eagerly greeted.

The aim is to showcase the artwork at South Holland In Bloom and other community events.

Tulip Radio is co-ordinating the project and will supply canvases approximately 40in x 30in. It’s hoped that each one completed will also bear the logo and names of those who created it.

Tulip Radio business manager Jan Whitbourn said: “I am trying to get groups, organisations, WI, Women’s guilds, churches, every organisation I can to take part in this project.
“The canvases will all look great together once we get them put up. It really is amazing how many organisations are taking part and wanting to knit.”

A pattern for the tulip head will be supplied and the best artwork will receive a prize.
