Boss Dunn feels Pinchbeck United are finally starting to click after Sports success

Chuffed player/boss Ian Dunn felt his Pinchbeck United side produced their best football of the season so far during Saturday’s 6-1 victory at Leverington Sports.

Goals from Tony Edwards (16), Chris Shipley (60), Ollie Maltby (63 and 67), Liam Ogden (65) and Fabio Ramos (75) ensured that Pinchbeck kicked off the defence of their President Premier Shield title in style.

Dunn admits that he was a little worried when the hosts levelled before half time, but was very pleased with what he saw – especially without key man Tom Brooks.

He said: “Tom has been our best player so far this season, but the others really stepped up to the plate.

“I thought we played some of our best football of the season in the first half, but when they scored from their only attack I wondered if things would turn.

“Thankfully we had a good chat at half time and then totally dominated after the break.

“We played some really good stuff and seemed to score every other minute in the second half. We really clicked for the first time and it was pleasing to see.”

Dunn is hoping his side carry their resurgent form into Saturday’s PDFL Premier Division clash with Langfoft United at Knight Street (2pm).

Edwards and Ash Murrell are banned, but Brooks, Jamie Francis and Luke Gardner all return.

Pinchbeck: Ashton, B Murrell, Leggett, Lawe, A Murrell, Bishop, Eyes, Shipley, Ogden, Edwards, Maltby. Subs used: Panton, Ramos, Smith.
