A couple who aptly live on Love Lane in Spalding have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.
Ena Turner (87) and husband Les (92) were wed at Whaplode Church on December 27, 1947.
They celebrated their platinum anniversary together at home.
The pair had met in the Odeon Cinema in Spalding, though neither can remember when and what they were there to see.
They have one daughter, Betty and a granddaughter called Susan.
Ena went on to work on the land around Spalding while among Les’s jobs included working for the Post Office in Peterborough.
When asked about what the best thing about Ena, Les laughs: “She always does the house and garden work.
Ena said: “I just love Les. I think the secret to a long marriage is walking away instead of arguing. I don’t argue; I just walk away.”
