Plans for commercial use of a private pool

Owners of a domestic swimming pool are looking to continue offering public lessons at the site.

The owners of Riverside House, Bloodfold Farm on Ravens Bank, Holbeach St Johns, are applying for a retrospective change of use planning permission.
As there is a hiring fee for the pool, they need a ‘mixed residential and commercial’ approval.
“The applicant has recently started allowing a private instructor to take bookings from members of the public to use the swimming pool,” says a document accompanying the planning application.
The lessons are usually one-to-one for children with special needs.
“The neighbouring residents are at such a distance away that the very minimal additional traffic movements to and from the site would cause little, if any, nuisance,” adds the document.
The application has gone to South Holland District Council.
