Plane crash: Weston Hills roads will stay closed for a week

Police have confirmed that the road closures in Weston Hills as a result of Wednesday’s military aircraft crash are likely to remain in place for a further week.

·         Broadgate is closed from the junction with the B1357 Moulton Chapel Road to the junction with Fengate Drove

·         Mill Drove North is closed from the A16 to the junction with Old Fendyke Road

A spokesman for Lincolnshire Police said the closures are in place to secure the integrity of the investigation and to protect the workforce.

Residents within the cordon are allowed entry and there is access to Honey Pots Nursery. The school bus is now able to use the bus stops along Broadgate.

Community Policing Inspector Jim Tyner said: “Everything is being done to reduce the impact upon the community but inevitably some people will be inconvenienced.”

Police have warned that there will be significant increase in recovery crews and equipment, including heavy plant, in the early part of next week.
