Pinchbeck guides strike gold

Four girls from 1st Pinchbeck (St Mary) Guides were presented with their gold awards after spending an enjoyable evening roller skating at Skaters, near Wisbech, recently.

Freya Hampshire, Charlotte Turner and sisters Darcy and Leila Osborne all won gold after completing badges including backwoods cooking, confectionery, conscious consumer and first aid.

To finish the award each one had to complete a special challenge.

This included learning to ski and making a rabbit hutch using wood and power tools.

Leader Jane Amess said, “This award has taken time and commitment to achieve and is something that these Guides can be really proud of.”

Three of the girls will be moving up to Pinchbeck Rangers after the summer holidays.

The Rangers Unit in the village is being re-opened after closing down in 2020.
