Pinchbeck cyclist’s 300-mile ride to Paris for charity

A keen Pinchbeck cyclist is going to clock up 300 miles in the saddle to fundraise for Prostate Cancer.

Alexandra Bracegirdle is cycling from London to Paris next week.
Her dad David Thomas, who was diagnosed with prostate cancer three years ago, is the inspiration for the ride.
She said: “Surgery has not been possible, unfortunately, and he is undergoing constant treatment to help keep the disease and metastasis under control.”

Alexandra (45), an account manager who lives in Burma Avenue, has cycled the London-Paris route once before, in 2008, and did Paris-Geneva the following year.
She currently clocks up 100 miles per week in training.

The aim is to raise £1,500 through the four-day venture, which starts on Wednesday. Donations can be made via www.justgiving.com/alexandra-bracegirdle/
