Pilbeam strikes to keep Tigers on track

There has been no FA Vase hangover for Holbeach United in the Thurlow Nunn League. The Tigers have bounced back from their 6-0 exit at Newark Town with a pair of wins to put them on the brink of the Division One North play-off places.
Last Wednesday they chalked up a 2-1 win against FC Peterborough at Carter’s Park before earning a 2-0 win at Wivenhoe Town on Saturday.
Connor Pilbeam was on target in both games. He joined George Frost on the scoresheet in the home match before grabbing both in the win in Essex, which left the Tigers a point outside the early-season play-off places but with at least one game in hand over the teams above them.
Holbeach were due to take a break from league action last night (Wednesday) with a trip to Parson Drove in the League Cup.
Tigers v FC Peterborough: Rigby, Yambasu, Johnson, Nicholson, Oldham, Harris, Wirchoski, Barnes, Pilbeam, Prentice, Frost. Subs: Compton, Cook, Hoyle, Robertson, Ling.

Tigers at Wivenhoe: Rigby, Yambasu, Johnson, Nicholson, Oldham, Harris, Wirchoski, Barnes, Pilbeam, Prentice, Frost. Subs: Compton, Cook, Hoyle, Robertson.
