Pilbeam strikes but Tigers held

Holbeach United were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Diss Town on Saturday in the Thurlow Nunn First Division North.

The second consecutive draw meant it’s now no win in three for the play-off chasing Tigers.
They did though have to come back from a goal down and hang on for a spell with ten-men towards the end after a sin-binning.
Connor Pilbeam was a livewire throughout as Holbeach dominated the early stages.
He hit the post early on while Avelino Veira also went close and only a good save denied Harvey Thorne on the half hour.
However seven minutes later Diss were ahead thanks to Benjamin Blyth’s header from close range.
Holbeach battled away even when down to ten after Ryan Cook’s yellow card, one of four Tigers players to be carded.
But they got back on level terms from the penalty spot, Pilbeam with the strike that sealed a point.
The Tigers next face a trip to Norwich CBS on Saturday.
