Person found dead on Spalding railway line

A person has died following an incident on the railway line through Spalding last night.

British Transport Police said its officers were called at 7.50pm yesterday (February 20) and the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

They also said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

It’s not been confirmed if the person has been hit by a train.

A number of emergency service vehicles were reported around The Raceground in Spalding at the time.

A spokesman for British Transport Police, said: “Officers were called to the line near Spalding railway station at around 7.50pm yesterday (20 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
