Performance by singer Pavanotti

Pavanotti, alter-ego of Pinchbeck singer Jeff Woods, is holding a fundraising concert in Long Sutton on Saturday.

The evening of “Great Singing and Great Fun” takes place at St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm. Admission is £5.

Pavanotti has presented several fundraising concerts at local churches – most recently at Crowland Abbey and Mouton Chapel.

He has sung for some of Britain’s leading opera companies, on TV and radio, on cruise ships and even for Princess Diana.

He said: “It is a great thrill for me to have been given the opportunity to sing in Long Sutton’s beautiful church and I will be performing the usual mixture of show songs, a little opera and songs to sing along with plus two of my own songs – Fenland and a fun Christmas song.

“I hope the audience enjoys them and that my concert will raise lots of money for church funds.”

The evening’s entertainment will also include comical stories and jokes told in Jeff’s inimitable style – once described as “a cross-between Les Dawson and Ken Dodd.”
