Pensioner and daughter’s walk raises £1,700 for Edie (6)

A 75-year-old from Long Sutton has raised over £1,500 towards a six-year-old with a brain tumour by walking 31.6 miles.

Noel Bratt alongside his daughter Keily Cleary took 13 hours and 45 minutes to walk the distance from Ely Cathedral to his Long Sutton home.

It was all to raise money for family friend Edie Jackson who is battling a brain tumour.

In total more than £1,700 has been raised so far including £400 worth of fundraising from Noel’s fellow Tydd St Giles Golf Club senior section players.

Noel said of the walk: “We were sore, bruised and totally exhausted but felt as if we had achieved our objective.

“We will have achieved over and above the projected amount of £1,500 thanks to all our supporters, including a sizeable donation coming from the Seniors golf section at Tydd St Giles Golf Club run successfully by Roy Petersfield.

“At the time of writing Edie is receiving another round of radiation treatment making her feel unwell but we did get a thumbs up from her.”
