Members and friends of the MND Association have been going the extra mile to raise cash for the charity.

Last year Andrew Grantham was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease and since then his friends and family have held various fundraising events in aid of the MND Association.

The latest fundraiser was a Penny Mile held in Spalding’s Ayscoughfee Gardens.

Andrew’s sister-in-law Liz Grantham said: “Last November we asked people to start collecting pennies and instead of just laying the pennies in a line we decided to do something arty.

“We collected £600 thanks to many different people through work and schools and the money is going to the Spalding branch of the association to help fund research into this terrible disease.”
