Peas in a Pod for funds

A group of friends and relatives are taking on a number of fundraising efforts for Macmillan.

Peas in a Pod comprising Johanne Seymour, James Cairns, James Davey, Maik Kunath, Sasi Phairueang and Rachel, Rose, Katie, Charlotte and Harriet Berry, took on the Race For Life at Peterborough wearing mouse ears and pink hair dye.
Johanne, from Spalding, said: “We got to know each other either through work or family but collectively we have become a family.
“We have all experienced cancer in some ways, whether we have loved ones who have received treatment, lost people close to use from cancer or had treatment ourselves.
“For some of us this is the first time doing a event together, and for others it’s the third year in a row.”
The Peas in a Pod have previously organised their own sponsored walks and runs.
This year though they decided to take on the already organised Race for LIfe.
“Some of us danced around and others went ahead and ran the 5k, or rather tried to until pulled muscles eventually forced the run to change to a power walk.
“Collectively as a team everyone finished the course and received their medals.
“Next year we are looking at doing two events, the 10k Race For Life, possibly the 5k for some of us and we are also looking to do a mud challenge which will be for whichever the charity Fowler Welch choose as their 2024 charity.
“Preparations have already started for 2024 with new T-shirts being designed by Rachel for the team.
“Thank you to those who have already sponsored and donated the team.”
