PDFL round-up: Much-needed derby win for Long Sutton, Crowland lose 11-goal thriller

Long Sutton Athletic pulled off the shock of the weekend as they beat Holbeach United Reserves 3-2 in the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division.

Strikes from Freddie May, Jamal Nyang and James Ward gave the rock-bottom Magpies a big win against a Holbeach side that went into the fixture in third.

Jordan Keeble and Jordan Olive got the goals for the Tigers.

Staying in the top tier, Crowland Town lost an 11-goal thriller 6-5 at Wittering Premiair.

A hat-trick from Mantas Paskevicius and goals from Danny Firth and Joe Cole put Crowland in the mix, but Andrew Moss’ treble steered the hosts to all three points.

In Division One, second-half efforts from Keith England and Martin Sandall looked to be guiding Moulton Harrox Reserves to a win at Cardea.

But Charlie Bosett (89) and Tyrese Abban (90) earned the home side a 2-2 draw.

Pinchbeck Reserves, meanwhile, went down 4-3 at Eunice Huntingdon despite goals from Musa Conteh, Warren Hebblethwaite and Leandro Borges.

Staying in Division One, Crowland Town Reserves were crushed 9-0 at home against Ramsey Town.

Also beaten were Tydd, who went down 3-1 at home against Warboys Town despite Christopher Yaxley’s strike.

In Division Two, Long Sutton Athletic were on the wrong end of a spanking as they lost 12-1 at home against Peterborough City.

Liam Rumsey was the sole Sutton scorer.

Also heavily beaten were Division Four high-fliers Sutton Bridge United, as Deeping United Reserves battered them 8-2.

Mark Garner and Ben Partridge hit their consolation goals.

There was better news in Division Five, with Holbeach Bank beating Sawtry Reserves 3-0 thanks to Josh Cross, Danny Hunt and Thierry Williams.
