PDFL round-up: Moulton Harrox smash nine to close in on the Premier Division title

A whopping 9-2 win over Langtoft United moved Moulton Harrox to within a whisker of the ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division title on Saturday.

Goals from Danny Maddison (3), Joe Townsend (3), Marcus Parry (2) and Danny Lambe-Hyner at Broad Lane put Harrox in an almost unassailable lead, with Thorney now the only side able to stop them.

That would, however, involve Moulton losing their final three games while Thorney win all of their fixtures with a goal difference of 30-plus in the process.

A draw with Whittlesey Athletic on Saturday (2pm) will see Kev Nottingham’s charges clinch the title.

Elsewhere, Spalding Athletic lost 2-0 at Netherton Reserves to remain in Division Two’s bottom two.

Down in Division Three, Holbeach Bank were on the receiving end of a 12-0 home hammering against Farcet United.

However, Holbeach United Sports fared much better in Division Four.

They thrashed hosts Orton Rangers 7-0 to move within five points of top spot thanks to goals from Liam Mead (3), Gary Chappell (2) and Joe
Millinson (2).
