A 3-2 defeat at FC Parson Drove on Friday night saw ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division champions Moulton Harrox fall five points behind leaders Uppingham Town.
Harrox look set to be on the end of something of a drubbing when they fell 3-0 down at half time.
Second-half strikes from Billy King and Declan Earth set up a grandstand finish, but Moulton were unable to pinch a point.
Now fourth, Kev Nottingham’s side visit Stamford Lions on Saturday (2pm).
Elsewhere in the top tier and on Saturday, Jake Clitheroe’s strike earned Long Sutton Athletic a 1-1 home draw with Oakham United and Alex Richardson’s effort couldn’t stop Holbeach United Reserves losing 2-1 at home to Ketton.
In Division One, high-flying Crowland Town kept their fine form going with a 4-2 success over FC Peterborough.
Matthew Smith (2), Danny Firth and Corban Oldham got the goals for second-placed Crowland at Snowden Field.
Moulton Harrox Reserves also enjoyed a welcome 2-1 win over Eunice Huntingdon at Broad Lane.
Marcus Cundy and Ashley Wilson netted as Moulton – who were bolstered by a number of first-teamers – won for only the second time this season.
However, basement side Spalding Town were thrashed again; this time 9-0 at home against Eye United.
In Division Two, Crowland Town Reserves enjoyed an impressive 4-0 success at Oakham Reserves.
Nathan Woodward (2), Tom Glindon and an own goal secured their third win from six league games so far.
Down in Division Three, Tydd Reserves became the first team to take points from leaders Holbeach United Sports as the duo drew 1-1.
The returning Paul Newcombe grabbed a comeback goal for Tydd, while Olaoluwa Babasanya netted for the Tigers.
In Division Five, Brendan Burton and Karl Smith earned Long Sutton A a 2-2 draw at Deeping United.
