PDFL round-up: Flawless Moulton Harrox gain revenge over ill-disciplined Polonia

Defending champions Moulton Harrox made it five wins from as many ChromaSport PDFL Premier Division games on Saturday as they beat Peterborough Polonia 3-0 in an ill-tempered clash at Broad Lane.

A first-half Jamie Casey strike set Harrox on their way to avenging a PFA Senior Cup against Polonia the previous week.

Joe Townsend’s second-half double – the first a penalty and the second a header – then rounded off the win for Kev Nottingham’s charges.

But dreadful scenes followed after the final whistle, with four Polonia players shown straight red cards for trying to cause a mass brawl as the players left the pitch.

Those players were Benas Jasilionis, Vaidas Macianskis, Mindaugas Valys and Ramunas Zickevicius.

Also in the Premier Division, Holbeach United Reserves battled to a 2-2 draw at ICA Sports.

Callum Simmonds and Louis Steadman found the net for Phil Barnes’ Tigers, who collected just their second point of the campaign.

Long Sutton’s slow start to the season also continued with a 2-0 loss at Thorney.

Top tier Tydd were on-song in the PFA Senior Cup, however, beating Ketton 4-2 with Ivaylo Raychev netting a hat-trick.

In Division One, Sutton Bridge United and Crowland Town played out an incredible game at Memorial Park.

Crowland walked away 7-5 winners thanks to goals from Corban Oldham (3), Danny Firth (2), Ethan Allen and Harry Grigas.

Kurt Scott (3), David Abbott and Matt Wayman hit back for Bridge in the 12-goal thriller.

There was another derby cracker at the same level, with nine-man Spalding Town holding Moulton Harrox Reserves to a 3-3 draw.

Jordan Clow hit two goals and was sent off, while Robbie Thurston got the other Town goal and Kyle Dodd was the other dismissed.

Ash Wilson (2) and Matt Rose bagged for Harrox at Knight Street.

In Division Two, Crowland Town Reserves enjoyed a 5-1 win at Peterborough NECI, while Long Sutton Reserves were thumped 6-0 at home by Thorpe Wood.

But there was a 5-2 win for Holbeach Sports at FC Peterborough Reserves in Division Three, with Steve Barnes getting a hat-trick.
